Another Big Day for Amplifi : Our Demo Day 2 for Mumbai investors

Held on 9th July @Sofitel BKC, Mumbai.

After a successful Demo Day in Bengaluru on 2nd July 2016, Amplifi’s first cohort was now ready and primed (with feedback and fine-tuning) to pitch to Mumbai’s angels and VCs on 9th July 2016, in a 5 star setting at the Sofitel hotel in BKC.

All the startups arrived in Mumbai on the morning of 7th July 2016 to prepare and have brainstorming sessions with the Amplifi team and their Mumbai based mentors.

7th July: Just before the Demo day, startups go into preparation and practice full swing.

8th July: The preparations for our Demo day were in full swing and the Amplifi Crew was at the venue (Sofitel BKC) to make sure all arrangements were in place. Here are some photos from the evening before the big day :

By 8.50 AM, we had a full house.

RB.jpgAt 8.55 AM, Mr. Rohinton Bharucha (Director of Amplifi) took the stage to welcome everyone to our second Demo Day.  Rohinton talked a bit about what it took Amplifi to get to this stage and how we selected the startups. Rohinton expressed his gratitude to everyone assembled there. He then explained the pitch format in short and introduced the first startup to pitch – Tellofy.

A multi-mode (audio, video and text), independent, sector agnostic, discovery, ratings and review platform on web, mobile and onsite driven by analytics with actionable insights.


The 2nd startup to pitch was :


Analytics driven customer engagement platform for offline retailers.

They want offline retailers to intelligently connect with consumers and seamlessly engage them using predictive analytics.

The 3rd startup to pitch was :


In-store Experience and Off-store Engagement Platform for restaurants.

They are on a mission to “Deliver Happy & Loyal Customer”. It’s a unique customer engagement platform that helps restaurants increase loyalty and guest experience with complete workflow automation.


11:15 AM – We had a tea break and a breather for everyone including investors.

11:30 AM – pitching begins again with the young and dynamic team from Bhubaneshwar:


SaaS enabled Marketplace (SEM) for the travel market.

TravDots Specializes in providing the best possible experience for the travel agents, travel operators and other travel service provider by providing all the necessary tools with advanced technology and expertise knowledge.


Next pitch was delivered by our only female entrepreneur in the cohort #1, Swathi Komandur of


First of its kind lead management solution for training institutes.

They are looking to become a complete end-to-end platform for institutes – Course Management, Digital Identity, Fee Management & Placements.


And finally, the last pitch was delivered by a team with a big unique idea :

An innovative analytics driven SaaS platform to help HR leaders foresee attrition.

Their gamified application and predictive tool helps recruiters anticipate employee attrition in the organization in order to plan and execute timeline interventions.


At 1.45 pm the pitch sessions ended and we broke for lunch. Over lunch, investors also met on a one-on-one basis with startups that they were interested in investing.

The event was highly appreciated by all the investors and accolades included rating the preparedness of the startups very high and the curation of a high quality. Several of the investors were keen to invest in some of the startups and had already set up further meetings with them.

Amplifi team was very happy with the outcome of the event and are confident that a good percentage of cohort 1 would successfully raise their rounds, between two successful groups of investors in Bengaluru and Mumbai.
